Day 037/365

A summary of 3 MAIC Private Dinners

1- Miami is becoming a hub for conversations around AI, led by Miami AI Club’s efforts. Over the three dinners we had thought provoking conversations with high calibers from various states and a couple of international guests.

2- A lot of conversations that are happening in conferences are one dimensional. Panels have become boring, all talking about the same thing. Bubbles should burst and we should cross-pollinate our knowledge pools. When we listen to others with different backgrounds, if listen carefully, we would hear very clearly where AI will succeed the most.

3- When we shake hands with people with the same level of success as us from other industries, we see untapped cross-industry partnership opportunities, a very strong ROI.

3- Most see the collective enthusiasm towards AI, the smart are looking into i. the NVDA’s of future which potentially is a company that does CORE layer of AI ii. Those selling shovels will be hot as long as they stay relevant with defensibility. iii. Risk, especially cyber risk. Fewer are concerned about job loss.

4- AI’s impact on cybersecurity is the largest opportunity of this decade. It’d be enormously larger than any other market, even healthcare. Security is the most fundamental of our needs, and we’re living in an increasingly volatile world. Soon Nigerian scammers would become super-hackers each with access to the weaponry of a nation-state cyber army. Our digital infrastructure is not antifragile enough to sustain such day!

5- Miami has the potential to become a leader in AI Cybersecurity. We have been traditionally serving LATAM for most of their cybersecurity needs. We have a great connected cybersecurity ecosystem, we have been the landing pad of Israel’s cybersecurity startups which have been extremely successful and more are coming. The VC market, startup support growth and bridging talent gap are also prime.
