Day 042/365

Tesla and AGI

Tesla envisioned a world where electrical energy could be transmitted wirelessly and made freely available to everyone. His most notable project in this area was the Wardenclyffe Tower, intended to be part of a world wireless system for transmitting messages and electricity without wires across great distances.

Tesla was working on methods to harness natural energy sources more efficiently and distribute that energy widely with minimal loss. Some key points:

1. Wireless power transmission: Tesla demonstrated that electrical energy could be transmitted through the air without wires.
2. Earth’s potential: He believed the Earth itself could be used as a conductor and wanted to use the ionosphere to transmit power globally.
3. Resonance: Tesla’s theories involved using resonant frequencies to transmit energy more efficiently.
4. Funding issues: The tower was destroyed due to financial constraints and lack of investors appetite. Tesla spent the rest of his life writing about the fundamentals of free energy, producing tens of thousands of pages, which disappeared right after his death. It seems he had the key to “free energy” and potentially free internet.

That key is the most valuable key in the world. It’s also the most critical key in the world. It could dramatically shift energy, power, and capital. While some have shown how the system works on small scales, if there’s one person who could potentially find the key and also bring it to consumer use, it would be Elon Musk. In either case, anyone in their shoes would keep it as secret as possible and not even show public interest. Wouldn’t you?

No matter if you feel the world would have been a better place if Tesla had succeeded, Artificial Genenral Intelligence, AGI is a similar force. I’m not talking about most AI, as there’s so much noise. I’m talking about a multimodal AGI. That’s not far from happening, possibly in 2027. It can bring enormous wealth, power, and success for its creators. They even can make it free. Imagine free “intelligence” for all!

If you were an AGI’s creator, what would you do with that?
