Day 055/365

When AI Meets Hope – A Night of Possibility

Last week, the AI and human resilience intersection took center stage as the Miami AI Club joined the Live Like Bella® Childhood Cancer Foundation– it was a glimpse into a future where childhood cancer might become a thing of the past.

The evening began with an immersive mock tumor board, where leaders and founders stepped into the shoes of medical professionals. Watching investment bankers and tech entrepreneurs grapple with the complexities of treating a 4-year-old with rhabdomyosarcoma was both humbling and enlightening. It reminded me of those intense case discussions in medical school, but with a profound twist – this time, AI was part of the equation.

Then came the hope accelerated with AI, Noah Berlow presenting their AI-driven research that made the cover of Nature Medicine. The results? Breathtaking. Using AI to analyze cancer cell genetics, they’re achieving what once seemed impossible: an 83% cancer-free rate in patients who had months to live. Even more fascinating? Some over-the-counter antihistamines showed better results than traditional chemotherapy in certain cases.

This isn’t just about technology – we’re witnessing how AI can reshape our approach to humanity’s greatest challenges. It’s not just a tool; it’s an accelerator of hope.

The power of this evening wasn’t in the algorithms or the data – it was in the convergence of brilliant minds united by a singular purpose: the world changes when a small group of determined individuals believes they can make a difference.

With Miami AI Club’s Healthcare Task Force setting its sights on eradicating childhood cancer through AI, we’re not just dreaming big – we’re taking action. As Raymond Rodriguez-Torres always reminds us, every child saved is a universe of possibilities preserved.

The future of healthcare isn’t in Silicon Valley or isolated research labs – it’s in the confluence of empathy, innovation, collaboration and determination. And last night, in a room full of “crazy enough” individuals, that future felt closer than ever.

Thanks for LiveLikeBella team for such a wonderful experience, Nicole de Lara Puente, Mayte Vizcaino, Monica Margarita Diaz Ponce.
